Michael’s extensive manufacturing background starts in the 1950’s in Downtown Detroit where he learned the trade of machining as a teenager. He graduated in 1958 and attended the University of Detroit School of Engineering, where he was trained in Drafting, Metallurgy, and Business principles. After working as a draftsman, a salesman, and as a shop manager, Michael became inclined to start his own Machine shop. He dreamed of a maximum efficiency shop that could utilize modern technologies and work as a team to solve industry problems.

Thus, in 1968 Metalmite Corporation was born out of one man’s dream for a better way of manufacturing. Michael has since invested in the best CNC equipment the industry could offer, CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC Grinders, Wire EDM, and even CNC saws. The Lean manufacturing concept is finally catching on industry wide, but Metalmite was born with this concept in mind and has been perfecting it for over 41 years. Michael is commonly heard saying, “We do it right at Metalmite!”
